The Problem

We met the client’s CEO and Director in their new London office in January 2019. The director had moved over from the Philadelphia office to help grow the new London team. They were finding it difficult to find enough quality candidates that would allow them to grow at the pace they would like.

What The Client Needed

The client was looking for candidates with a strong consulting toolkit, deep healthcare and/or pharma experience. Most importantly of all however, they wanted an excellent cultural fit.

The Search - Proactive

The client requested that all potential candidates were fully screened to ensure that they matched the company culture, as well as having the requisite technical skills and experience. This resulted in a relatively small number of candidates, but as a result of this, we had a much greater chance of success in making a successful placement.

By the end of March 2019 we had spoken with around 30 candidates, of which seven began the interview process.

Results

The client made their first offer to an Ascent candidate at the start of April. They were delighted to accept and started their new role in October 2020, after a well-deserved break upon leaving Strategy.

The Future

Ascent have made a further 11 placements since the first candidate joined and it’s a pleasure to continue to provide top quality candidates and any other support or knowledge that they require. We have also recently started helping support their recruitment efforts in the US due to continued strong growth in the industry.
